I have been getting more and more stories from visitors about their ancestors, so much that I have decided to put a page up where you can access the stories from.
I hope you enjoy them and if you have a story or pictures you would like included.

Earlier I found a report on your site from a visitor from Oregon researching her family history in Fife. She mentioned getting your help at the Kirkcaldy Library, and a series of bound volumes listing people on various estates.
I am interested in finding a listing of staff/servants/farmers or tenants on the Balcarres estate around 1750.
Can you tell me where I might find this information? I believe an ancestor worked (gardener or groomsman) there around 1750-1780.
From an old ordanance survey map of Thornton in Fife, there is marked out a poor house combination on Station road, opposite site of cattle market.
Surely that makes four combinationsin Fife?
